In love with the sweat, blood, and punishment working as a roofer, I discovered copper. With almost no training, I mastered the skills of sheet metal fabrication. After starting my own company, I had access to large amounts of scrap copper. I began crafting small boxes and flowers. With the encouragement of my family, I started creating larger sculptures. I took great joy in making scrap copper chairs, tables, and insects. After I lost my balance and most of my hearing, art was an important part of healing. Being advised to stay off the roof, I found art as a release from my normal daily activities. Art is my sanity. I am the student and the teacher. Each new project is a challenge to hammer my imagination onto a flat piece of metal. Most recently I have been working on the art of the run on sentence.
